Words and music: Otis Denton and M. L. Yandell © 1976 Stamps Baxter Music (Brenton-Benson Music Publishing)
This song also appeared on Singing His Praises by The Sounds of Glory.
Lead: Rodney Britt and Dale Underwood

Lyrics:

Are you giving to the world a smile (sunny smile)
Helping lessen someone's dreary mile (dreary mile)
Do you greet the world with song as through life you pass along
Cheering those who you may meet along life's way

Chorus:
Give the world a smile each day (give the world a bright smile every day)
Helping someone on life's way (helping someone on life's dreary way)
From the paths of sin (paths of sin) bring the wonderer in (bring them in)
To the master's fold to stay (to His fold, yes forever to stay)
Help to cheer the lone and sad (help cheer the sad, the lone and sad)
Help to make some pilgrim glad (help make pilgrim, make somebody glad)
And let your life so be that (life so be that) all the world might see
The joy of serving Jesus with a smile (a bright sunny smile)

Give the world a happy song today (song today)
That will help some pilgrim on His way (on His way)
You can tell him of the Lord and His heavenly reward
If you'll only follow Jesus day by day

Repeat Chorus

Scriptural Reference:

"When I smiled at them, they scarcely believed it; the light of my face was precious to them."  Job 29:24

The Lighthouse

Words and Music: Ronnie Hinson © 1971 Canaanland Music
This song also appeared on Old Time Favorites by The Sounds of Glory, Give Me Light by Acappella Vocal Band, The Early Years by AVB, Acappella Traditional by The Acappella Company, Second Pew on the Left by Cross Examined, and on Get With the Rhythm by Rhythm & News.
Lead: Dale Underwood

Lyrics:

There's a Lighthouse on the hillside
That over looks life's sea
When I'm tossed it sends out a light
That I might see
And the light that shines in darkness now
Will safely lead us o'er
If it wasn't for the Lighthouse
My ship would be no more

Chorus:
And I thank God for the Lighthouse
I owe my life to Him
For Jesus is the Lighthouse
And from the rocks of sin
He has shown a light around me
That I could clearly see
If it wasn't for the Lighthouse (tell me)
Where would this ship be?

Everybody that lives about us
Says tear that Lighthouse down
The big ships don't sail this way anymore
There's no use of it standing round
Then my mind goes back to that stormy night
When just in time I saw the light
Yes, the light from that old Lighthouse
That stands up there on the hill

Repeat Chorus (x2)

If it wasn't for the Lighthouse (tell me)
Where would this ship be?

Scriptural Reference:

"When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'"  John 8:12
"'Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become sons of light.' When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them."  John 12:36

Lyrics:

Chorus 1:
Oh Jesus, He gave her water (He gave her water, He gave her water)
You know my Jesus gave her water (Oh my Jesus gave her water, He gave her water)
Oh Jesus, He gave her water (He gave her water, He gave her water)
But it was not from the well

Repeat Chorus 1

Well, there was a woman from Samaria (He gave her water, He gave her water)
She came to the well to get some water (Oh my Jesus gave her water, He gave her water)
It was there she met a Savior (He gave her water, He gave her water)
And He did her story tell (Oh my Jesus gave her water, He gave her water)
Well she left my Savior singing (He gave her water, He gave her water)
But she came to Him bringing (Oh my Jesus gave her water, He gave her water)
The time she had water (He gave her water, He gave her water)
But it was not from the well

Repeat Chorus 1

On that woman He had pity (He gave her water, He gave her water)
And she ran back to the city (Oh my Jesus gave her water, He gave her water)
Crying glory hallelujah (He gave her water, He gave her water)
I'm gonna let His praises swell (Oh my Jesus gave her water, He gave her water)
Every time she'd doubt it (He gave her water, He gave her water)
She'd stop to think about it (Oh my Jesus gave her water, He gave her water)
About the man who gave her water (He gave her water, He gave her water)
But it was not from the well

Chorus 2:
Oh, gave her water (He gave her water, He gave her water)
Jesus gave her water (Oh my Jesus gave her water, He gave her water)
Oh my Jesus He gave her water (He gave her water, He gave her water)
I'm gonna let His praises swell (Oh my Jesus gave her water, He gave her water)
Jesus gave that woman water (He gave her water, He gave her water)
He gave her that living lasting water (Oh my Jesus gave her water, He gave her water)
Water, but it was not from the well

Repeat Chorus 2

Scriptural Reference:

"Jesus answered, 'Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst.  Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."  John 4:13-14

Amazing Grace

Words and music: John Newton (1779)
This song also appeared on many other albums.
Lead: Rodney Britt and Dale Underwood

Lyrics:

Amazing Grace, how sweet, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once, I once was lost, but now, now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see, yes I see

Twas grace that taught, it taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

When we've (when we've been there) been there (when we've been there)
Ten thou- (ten thousand years) -sand years (ten thousand years)
Bright shi- (bright shining as) -ning as (bright shining as) the sun
We've no (we've no less days) less days (we've no less days)
To sing (to sing God's praise) God's praise (to sing God's praise)
Than when we first begun

Amazing Grace

Scriptural Reference:

"For this son of mine was dead and is alive again;  he was lost and is found . . ." Luke 15:24
". . . to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves."  Ephesians 1:6

Water in the Plan

Words and music: Keith Lancaster (1982)
This song also appeared on Songs We Like to Sing by The Sounds of Glory and as "There's Water in the Plan" on A Very Special Time by Keith Lancaster.
Lead: Dale Underwood

Lyrics:

Chorus:
I know there's water (yes, there's water)
In the plan (water in the plan)
Oh yes, there's water (yes, there's water)
In the plan (water in the plan)
If you listen to the Bible (in the Bible)
And not to man (and not to man)
You'll clearly understand (in order to be forgiven)
If you want to be forgiven (be forgiven)
No, not a work (no, not a work)
It's not an option (not an option)
That you can shirk (that you can shirk)
Oh well there's water (yes, there's water)
I know there's water (yes, there's water)
He said there's water in the plan

On the birthday of the kingdom as we read it in the Bible in Acts 2:38
Peter told the people that they had to be forgiven before it was too late
At the death of the Messiah they had ushered to be hastened and there they crucified
The one and only Savior they stood and watched Him die (on the cross of Calvary)
But then their eyes were open and then they started to believe in just what Peter said
See Jesus had been right so they had to make a point to see the Son of God was dead
But the grave it wouldn't hold Him, 'cause the rock had been a rollin' and He came forth from grave
The Prince of Peace that God had sent to save

Repeat Chorus

Nicodemus came to Jesus and was told it was essential that he had to be born again
Of the water and the spirit, yes He made it very clear that there was water in the plan
And the last and final mission, just before His great ascension He mentioned it once more
Go tell it and teach it and do it in all the world (how to make disciples)
Even Paul the great apostle had to write of its importance 'cause his sins had been washed away
Though he was a persecutin' and Ananias came unto him and he was born again that day
So if you want to put on Jesus and be in His saving body well there is no other route
The word of God has spelled it clearly out

Bridge:
Though men may teach against it and provide another plan
Many roads are offerred by the world
But God needs no improvement by a weak and feeble man
The Lord's way is the best I've ever heard

Repeat Chorus

We all need water in the plan

Scriptural Reference:

"Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'"  Acts 2:38
"'Can anyone keep these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.'  So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days."  Acts 10:47-48

Thinkin' About Home

Words and music: Terry Toler © BMG Songs, Inc.
This song also appeared on I Believe by The Sounds of Glory.
Lead: Dale Underwood (young man, narrative) and Rodney Britt (old man)

Lyrics:

"A penny for your thoughts" I said to the old man
As he sat there on the park bench all alone
With silver hair and wrinkled brown eyes gleaming
He smiled and said "Just thinkin' 'bout my home"

I sat down and we shared some laughs together
And the cinema of remembrance, it did roll
We talked about life's gains and yes its losses
But mostly he just talked about His home

Chorus 1:
"Oh, I'm thinkin' 'bout home
Thinkin' 'bout goin' home
Dreamin' 'bout leavin' here
I'm ready to be movin' on
It won't be long before the sun will set and I'll be gone
But until then, I'll be thinking 'bout home"

I said "Tell me old man where's your home and what's it like"
"Oh ain't nothing 'round here that compares
You see a King had it built and gave the deed to me
And all my family's already there"

He said...

Chorus 2:
"I'm thinkin' 'bout home
Thinkin' 'bout goin' home
Dreamin' 'bout leavin' here"
He's ready to be movin' on
"It won't be long before the sun will set and I'll be gone
But until then, I'll be thinking 'bout home"

"It won't be long before the sun will set and I'll be gone
But until then, I'll be thinking 'bout home"

"I'll be thinking 'bout my home"

Scriptural Reference:

Goin’ Home

Words and music: Dale Underwood and The Sounds of Glory
This song also appeared on This is My Story by The Sounds of Glory.
Lead: Dale Underwood

Lyrics:

If I could take you back in time
To what was on the Father’s mind
When He sent His only Son
Away from home (away from home)
He looked down on sinful man
And knew He had to have a plan
So He sent Him down to Earth
To bring them home

Chorus 1:
Bring them home
Bring them home
I’ve reserved for them a place around my throne
And someday they won’t have to wait
Until they step through my gate
But until then, Son (until then)
Bring them home

And while He walked here upon this earth
He talked about a second birth
He talked about His Father’s house
And goin’ home (goin' home)
He told them, “Don’t you be afraid
A mansion there for you is made
And my Father’s waiting there
Sayin', 'Come on home'”

Chorus 2:
Come on home
Come on home
You know you’re gonna see the face upon the throne
And someday you won’t have to wait
Until you step through my Father’s gate
But until then, child (until then)
Come on home

And when my race on earth is run
And the victory is won
When the trials of life are done
I’m goin’ home (goin' home)
So don’t you mourn for me down here
’Cause I’ll be so happy there
And when my Father calls for me
I’m goin’ home

Chorus 3:
Goin’ home
Goin’ home
You know I’m gonna take my place around the throne
And someday I won’t have to wait
Until I step through my Father’s gate
But until then I’m (until then)
I’m goin’ home

Chorus 4:
Goin’ home
Goin’ home
You know I’m gonna see the face upon the throne
And someday I won’t have to wait
Until I step through that gate
But until then I’m (until then)
I’m goin’ home

But until then I’m (until then)
I’m goin’ home

So let us labor for the Master from the dawn ’til setting sun
Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care (wondrous love and care)
And when all of life is over and our work on Earth is done
And the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there (roll is called up yonder I’ll be there)

Repeat Chorus

I’ll be there (oh I’ll be there)
I’ll be there (oh I’ll be there)
When the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there (when the roll is called I’ll be there)
Singing glory hallelujah
I’ll meet you in the air
When the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there (I’ll be there)
When the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there (I’ll be there)
When the roll is called up yonder (oh when the roll is called up yonder)
You know that I’ll be there (goodbye to sorrow and to death)
I’ll be there
