Lyrics:

Peter went with James and John
Jesus led them to a mountain
A voice from heaven said
A voice from heaven said to them
"Listen to Him"

You gotta listen to Him
Listen to Him

His shining face like the sun
His shining face shone to everyone
His clothes became as white
His clothes became as white as light
Listen to Him

You gotta listen to Him (listen to Him)
You gotta listen to Him (listen to Him)

Moses and Elijah talking there with Jesus
A cloud enveloped them
Terrified, the disciples face down to the ground
Looked up and the only one they found was Jesus
Glorified, Glorified

This is My Son whom I love
This is My Son whom I love
With Him I am well pleased
With Him I am well pleased
Listen to Him

You better listen to Him (listen to Him)
Wo listen to Him (listen to Him)
Listen, listen, listen because:

This is My Son whom I love
This is My Son whom I love
With Him I am well pleased
With Him I am well pleased
Listen to Him

Listen to Him (repeated with interjections and fade)

Scriptural Reference:

"Then a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: 'This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to Him!' Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus." Mark 9:7-8

Rescue

Words and music: Keith Lancaster © 1990 Anthony K. Music (ASCAP)
This song also appeared as part of "The Medley" and in full on The Collection by Acappella and in Spanish as "Veniste al Salvarme" on Español by Acappella.
Producer's Note from The Collection: "Of all the songs I have written, we have probably received more touching comments about 'Rescue.'  Apparently, this song ministers to a lot of people who can relate to the common plight of hopelessness in depending upon ourselves, and of the inexpressible elation that comes from surrendering your heart to the God of love, who only wants to lavish his affections upon us.  No matter what your situation is, God's unfailing love is standing by and anxious to provide relief to your weary heart.  Thank God!"
Lead: Wayburn Dean
Sample: Windows Media

Lyrics:

Lord You know everything I've done
Every thought I've had, You know every one
And Lord You know every time I fall
Still You come to my rescue when I call

Lord You hear every idle word,
Every thoughtless deed, how it seems absurd
That Lord You give, not what I am due
But mercy; You come to my rescue

You come to my rescue, rescue (x4)

Lord You care and You've become my friend
Amazing love whose boundaries have no end
And Lord You show what a greater love can do
By being there for my rescue

And Lord I give all I can give (all my heart)
All of my heart as long as I shall live
So Lord, oh Lord, I just want to thank You
For coming, coming to my rescue

You come to my rescue, rescue (x4)

It's hard to tell You just how grateful I am
But I'm still gonna make it show.
With every breath gonna let You know

I am accepting though I can't comprehend
How I could be worth the cost
When I was bound, despised and lost

Lord I give all I can give (all my heart)
All of my heart as long as I shall live
So Lord, oh Lord, I just want to thank You (I really want to thank you)
For coming, for coming to my rescue

You come to my rescue, rescue (x2)
He is always there for me (rescue, rescue)
And he'll be right, right there for you (rescue, rescue)
Oh Lord I know I don't deserve it (rescue, rescue)
But you love me anyhow (rescue, rescue)
You come to my rescue (rescue, rescue)
Keep on coming to my rescue (rescue, rescue)

Repeat last two lines and fade

Scriptural Reference:

"The Lord upholds all those who fall." Psalm 145:14
"Grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age." Galatians 1:18

Sample: Windows Media

Lyrics:

(Opening lines are spoken as a sermon- "John 10")
I am the door
By me if any man enter in he shall be saved
And shall go in and out and find pasture
The thief cometh not but for to steal
And kill and to destroy
But I have come that they might life!
And that they might have it more abundantly

Restless folks live restless lives
But the father hears their cries
He can feel the sorrow they feel
Jesus came to empathize
More than you can realize
Offering a life that is real

Chorus:
Since he came to give us (life)
There's been nothing like this (life)
I'm complete within His life
Such a source of healing (life)
Simple truth revealing (life)
There's no other feeling life

Repeat Chorus

Many who have heard His voice
Often fail to make the choice
Giving Him the total control
Burdens He could take today
They will carry anyway
Hopelessly to pilot their souls

Repeat Chorus (x2)

Giving us life - His life - There's no other life
He's giving us life, oh yes He's giving us life - There's no other life

There's no need for living down
When there's happy life around
Look at what the master has done
Give it time and you will see
You can sing along with me
This is why the Savior has come

Repeat Chorus (x2)

Scriptural Reference:

"I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.  He will come in and go out, and find pature.  The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."  John 10:9-10

Who is Gonna Tell the Child?

Words and music: George Pendergrass and Keith Lancaster © 1990 Clifty Music (BMI)/Anthony K. Music (ASCAP)
A portion of this song is part of "They Need Jesus" on Wisdom, Power, and Love by New Reign.
Lead: George Pendergrass
Sample: Windows Media

Lyrics:

Chorus:
Who is gonna tell the child about Jesus
Who is gonna tell the child about God?
Well I believe, I believe it's my responsibility to
Tell the child about God

See that child, standing on the corner,
Wondering which way to go
Should he go left, should he go right?
I believe the child really ought to know now

Repeat Chorus

See that child, his life is a mess
You wonder what's inside of his head
If someone doesn't tell him 'bout the love of the Lord
You know he's gonna wind up dead

Repeat Chorus (x2)

Who'll tell the children?
Who'll lend a hand? (Who'll lend a hand?)
Their way is hopeless
Without the Man

Think about it (think about it)

Can't you see that boy hanging in the streets
He's trying to do the best he can
If he only knew he has a Father who cares
I believe he'd grow to be a better man

Repeat Chorus (x2)

Who is gonna tell the child about Jesus
Who is gonna tell the child about God?

Scriptural Reference:

"Teach them (the words of God) to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." Deuteronomy 11:19

Everybody Said (But Nobody Did)

Words and music: Keith Lancaster © 1990 Anthony K. Music (ASCAP)
This song also appeared on The Collection by Acappella, Live From Paris by Acappella, and in Spanish as "Todo Mundo Dijo" on Español by Acappella.
Producer's Note from The Collection: "One of the few comedic songs in Acappella's repertoire, this song always brings chuckles to the concert audience.  This song was the very first music video we ever attempted.  The video was shot with no budget on a mission trip.  It turned out pretty good!  I made a cameo appearance driving a car as Acappella sang out the windows.  George Pendergrass is a rare vocal talent and dear brother with a servant's heart."
Lead: George Pendergrass
Sample: Windows Media Audio ; Video (Broadband)

Lyrics:

Chorus:
Everybody said that anybody could do
The important things somebody should do
Everybody knows that anybody could do
All the good things that nobody did

Well the preacher came to me and said what I ought to do
If I wanted to make my religion true
He'd do it himself but he really didn't have the time
He said that the duty was mine

Repeat Chorus (x2)

Well the deacon came by and said give me a hand
If you want to be going to the promised land
Here is something that I don't have time to do
So I better give it to you

Repeat Chorus (x2)

Well I'm too busy so I tell everybody
The work's got to get done by somebody
It could be done by anybody
But nobody, nobody, nobody did

Repeat Chorus (x2)

All the good things that nobody did (x2)

Lead: Wayburn Dean

Lyrics:

Chorus:
It is good for us to be here
Praise the Lord
And it's good to sing His praises
Praise the Lord
Give your praise to God on high
Lift your voices to the sky

It is good to be with brothers
In His church
And it's good to build up others
In His church

There's no greater joy to be
Part of Jesus' family

It is good to be with Jesus
And with friends who truly need us
Loving arms that will receive us
Making it clear

It is good to look to heaven
Having all our sins forgiven
We enjoy the life we're living
Having Him near

Repeat chorus

There's no greater joy to be
Part of Jesus' family

Scriptural Reference:

"Praise the Lord.  How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!" Psalm 147:1

That Could Have Been Me

Words and music: Wayburn Dean and Keith Lancaster © 1990 Anthony K. Music (ASCAP)
Lead: Duane Adams
Sample: Windows Media

Lyrics:

All the people who are living in the cold
With no direction, no place to call their own
Lacking proper shelter, pain is all they see
It humbles me completely just to know that could have been me

Chorus:
That could have been me (that could have been me)
That could have been me
Pain and the tears, relief unknown
Questioning why was I ever born
That could have been me (that could have been me)
That could have been me

Starvation in our world is bringing grief
All the blindness, famine and disease
I should never take for granted my health, prosperity
When I know I could have been the one with no one to rescue me

Repeat Chorus

That could have been me with the homeless
Not enjoying a happy home
That could have been me with the dying all alone
Though I know it's not my destiny
I've been spared from this much misery
I reach out and try to offer some relief

In slavery the miners want a say
Work till sundown just for pennies a day
Thought my skin is not that color
It's obvious what's right
So against ungodly treatment
I am willing to join the fight

Repeat Chorus

Scriptural Reference:

"He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities."  Psalm 103:10

Take it Away

Words and music: Keith Lancaster © 1990 Anthony K. Music (ASCAP)

Sample: Windows Media

Lyrics:

Hearts relating to the message waiting
For the contemplating souls today
Search to borrow any hope tomorrow
And divert the sorrow far away

Chorus:
Take it away (no more sorrow)
Take it away (take it away)

Hopeful wishin' from a sad condition
That your next decisions show the way
Men aspire just to take them higher
But the Justifer has the say

Repeat Chorus

No more sorrow, take it away
No hope tomorrow, not unless you take it away (take it away)

Hearts relating to the message waiting
For the contemplating souls today
Search to borrow any hope tomorrow
And divert the sorrow far away

No more sorrow, take it away
No hope tomorrow, not unless you take it away

Lyrics:

Chorus:
That they may all be one
That they may all be one
The Lord is praying for his church
That they may all be one

He prayed in the garden for His disciples
He prayed for all the blessings they would receive
Oh Righteous Father, I look toward heaven
I pray for unity for those who believe in Me

We're sharing the story, You have given me glory
That only comes from heaven above
I want those You've given me in our presence there to be
Manifested by our love

Repeat Chorus

His prayer continued for those coming after
His prayer of longing for the unity
Then they'd believe us, our God sent Jesus
The Holy Father has loved them that the world might see

The Lord said, "Come to Me all you who are weary and burdened
And I will give you rest
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble
In heart and you will find rest for your souls"

All those who believe in Me in our presence there to be
Manifested by our love

That they may all be won
That they may all be won
The Lord is praying for the World
That they may all be won

The Lord is praying for His church
That they may all be one

Scriptural Reference:

He touched my life and now I'm not the mine

Oh Master may our voices
Ascend beyond the stars to thee
We thank You with our lives
And praise You with the songs we sing

I have a friend who'll solve your problems
Don't worry 'bout paying Him, to love Him is His fee
And when life's road seems rough and gloomy
He said don't worry my child, just put your trust in Me

Lord like the gentle breezes,
Please let Your Spirit comfort me
With You I'm not alone-
You're everything I'll ever need

I have a friend who went to Calvary
He said I'll die
But I'll sure enough rise again
I have a friend thay call Him Jesus
I have a friend
And the angels praise His name (Repeat line x3)
